These are the items I will most frequently add to my tool bucket, dependent on the project at hand. These are not worth carrying all the time but good to have when you need them

The items I most often use as backup items are:

-A good tin snips. I am right-handed so most often I use a right hand one (yes, they make them for left right and straight cuts)

-A caulking gun with good quality white caulk. I like the gorilla brand, if available, for general purposes. There are lots of different sealing materials (that’s worth a discussion of its own).

-Larger vice grip

-Flat pry bar

-A 2-foot level

-A dustpan and brush

-A good quality 25–30-foot power cord, if taking any power tools.

I have a ‘first round support tool bag’ that is flexible and goes with me easily. I do have a first round support toolbox as well. I will take the whole thing, if need be, but often just a few extra tools will easily be adequate. A second bucket often works very well for that backup assortment.
