apply the 80-20 Rule… 80% of your projects can be done with 20% of your tools… This is not set in stone but the items in this layout prove to be adequate for
most smaller projects,
most of the time.
I have gleaned this collection over the years, and it works well for me. I have many toolboxes but my Project Pal using a five-gallon pail has lots of pluses.
NOTE: this is my custom design that my son-in-law assembled so I can have a specific place for each tool. At a glance, not only can I find the tool I want but quickly see if it’s missing. You can also simply use a specific toolbox or a generic bucket tool-holder which I used for a long time… I do totally enjoy my ‘Custom Project Pal’!!!
Let me be clear in that you don’t always need every component every time. I will provide my take on the priority order of tools I include and WHY I include them.
Keeping your tools handy is the goal and this is totally a matter of what works for you. I really do like my Project Pal.
If you have room in your garage to organize your tools on the wall, and you will not be doing projects for others that is a good option as well. The overall idea is to keep the tools you may need at your fingertips always ready and easy to see if anything might be missing.
More details and pics will be forth coming.
