 TABOO list. I’m not saying you should plan to rewire your house, but I am saying there are a lot of items you can do very safely in a home.

Top items and issues tend to be … switches, outlets and lights… typically not super complicated and requiring minimal tools to get the job done… we talk about these in the tool section.

There are two simple Rules I suggest you follow when doing anything electrical:

# 1:  turn off the power to anything you’re working on – That is turning off the corresponding circuit breaker and/or, if uncertain, turning off full power at the main panel. Double check what you are working on using a circuit tester.

#2:  use a good reference or resource to proceed with the troubleshooting and repair. You can do that via our video collection and or our suggested written resources in our reference section.  Well-illustrated and clear instructions are great to have at your fingertips!

In this section I also walk you through one project that will benefit you on every electrical issue that will ever come up -Guaranteed!!! And yet I see very few homes where this has been done!!!
