A few simple tools will go a long way toward dealing with little things that crop up around a home…
Note: A small organizer in a drawer or a small container on a handy shelf can easily contain the few tools that will make life easier.
Here’s my Bare Bones tool list:
- A good utility knife (with extra blades) – I like the old Basic Stanley – they will last a LONG time!!
- A multi-purpose screwdriver (big and small flat and Phillips ends)
- A smaller tape measure (3 to 10 feet) — even a 3 foot will often do the trick!
- A small hammer
- A ‘good’ small vice-grip pliers (the Vice-Grip brand is by far preferred)
A good ole ‘CATCH ALL’ DRAWER can be handy if you have the space… #1 Rule keep it generally organized…
Tools, Scissors, flashlights, pens & Markers, Tapes-pads and some MISC covers a lot of bases. I have a small zip-lock with some often-used screws, nails, etc. – it easily collects and holds the misc.
Note: If you are a ‘fix it kind of person’ for small stuff, a set of very small screwdrivers can be useful. Quality is very important here.
